I use to go to american centre for my study. When I come out of the Barakhamba Metro station I daily see 2 kids sitting in the front of Barakhamba metro station and waiting for some customers whom they can polish their shoes. On 23rd march I complaint about this child labour on the help line number 198 but after a three months still no action is yet taken. I asked both the children about themselves. They told me their ages are 8 and 10 years respectively. And their names are Pintu and vikash. They are basically from Dwarka,Delhi. They both are cousin brothers and their parents are doing the same shoe polishing business. When I asked them about their education they told me we dint get time to go to school. When I asked do you want to go to school then they replied me yes. Their eyes were telling the stories of their pain the kid name pintu,8 years boy was not even able to face my eyes as his eyes were wet at that time. I was really ashamed with this that in a high profile area like Barakhamba these childrens are fighting and compromising with their basic rights and working to get their bread and butter.
My only appeal to you to please take some actions over this. I have informed to child labour helpline number 198 but they dint take any action. Please come forward to stop exploiting the rights of two kids. Its not only the matter of that two kids, many kids like him is facing the same problem. I shall always be remain obliged to you.
